Get to Know SARA PRINCE
Sara grew up in Shawnee Mission and took ice‑skating lessons where Spinning Tree Theatre now performs.
After earning a Drama degree, she spent a decade in New York pursuing classical singing, which included contract choral work, opera internships, and independent projects that provided experiences and memories to last a lifetime.
A parallel career in Development included employment at the Princess Grace Foundation, The Juilliard School, and ultimately Director of Development for Union County College.
When Sara’s second child was identified with a developmental delay, her path shifted toward advocacy and education. She became active with the Autism Society in Virginia, earned a master’s degree in special education, and worked in public schools supporting students with disabilities.
During this time, she also discovered cabaret, studying at the Cabaret Conference at Yale University and performing local benefits in Virginia.
Her family returned to Kansas City in 2012 so her autistic son could attend a meaningful 18–21-year high school program; he now lives independently in Lenexa, supported and employed. Today, Sara is an ADHD and executive‑skills coach, supporting neurodivergent adults and stakeholders, and training new ADHD coaches.
Spinning Tree’s commitment to actors of all abilities aligns deeply with Sara’s life and values. Singing for this theatre is her way of celebrating inclusion, community, and the belief that every artist deserves a stage.
